Saturday, December 7, 2024 (2:00 PM - 6:00 PM) (MST)
Description
Join us for a fun-filled day. Advertise your Business by Creating and Donating a Tree for our Annual Tree Festival. Trees are created by you and displayed in your business for foot traffic 2 weeks before the Hometown Christmas Event. Community Members will visit the trees in your business to fill in their passports to win prizes.
Awards will be given to trees as well. Peoples Choice, Highest Bid, etc.
All Proceeds are donated to Local Morgan Families in Need. Examples include (paying past due utility bills, paying child's lunch money balance, Sub for Santa for families to have some gifts for Christmas, and Grocery Gift Cards for Families.
Guidelines for Decorating and Displaying Your Tree:
- Trees will be on display at your place of business, or, if you do not have a brick and mortar store in Morgan County, it can be placed in another business.
- Please do not use a very tall tree, as that will limit where it can be displayed and who would be able to bid on it. Full size trees should not be larger than 8 feet tall.
- Please secure all lights and ornaments with wire as the tree will need to be moved. Please glue metal caps to ornaments.
- For stability when moving the trees, please use a sturdy tree stand. It is also a good idea to create a support of rebar that extends up the trunk of the tree. It can be attached with hose clips.
- Please provide an extension cord and power strip – just for the display. These items will be returned to you. Please mark them clearly with your name and phone number.
- All items displayed around the tree will be included in the bids for the tree. This includes the tree stand and the tree skirt.
- Trees will need to be on display at the business location by Monday, November 25th. They will remain on display there through Friday, December 6th .
- If your tree is on display at a business that is not on Commercial St., it is your decision if you would like to move it to Commercial St. before the morning of Sat, 12/7. Because of the festivities on Commercial St. that day, it will more likely receive higher bids and more votes for the “People’s Choice Award”, but we understand that it may be difficult to move the tree, so you will not be required to do that. We highly encourage moving of the tree. The auction winner can pick up the tree the night of the event.
- The Morgan Chamber of Commerce will provide a small stamp for you to use on the “Christmas Passports” that people will bring when they come to view your tree. Also a dropbox for completed “passports”.
- We have asked that the highest bidder for each tree/house pick up the item the night of the event. Payment for the bid will be given to the Morgan Chamber of Commerce and 100% of the proceeds will be given to local Families in need.
- Don’t forget that this is a charitable gift and, therefore, is a tax-deductible item for your business.
